about

Earl Grey (the nobleman-with-a-Moog you're listening to right now)
is the gentleman of synth-driven music.
Danny Ashenden, otherwise known as one half of The C90s AKA one half of Say Yes to Another Excess (along with Daniel Avery) has decided not to be a half anymore.
After locking himself up in his studio with a kettle and 50 bags of Chinese tea spiked with bergamot oil for some months, he came out and handled us his first EP ever:
Not Everyone's Cup of Tea. (***ENGLISH HUMOUR ALERT***)
Earl Grey's music is sharp, refreshing, deep, intense, with an always enjoyable dramatic aftertaste: this modern Earl is much like an impressionist painter who uses analog waves as his PANTONE color table.
EP ouverture track Through the City shows his own London, the one which comes alive as a Kenneth Anger-directed movie in his caffeine-drenched mind. Hazel Tratt's dream-inducing vocals make a perfect counterpoint to the Earl's own nightly vocoder.
Jus Clap brings you in its own grey area (sorry) where Art of Noise meets Theo Parrish, then you blast Regent's Park on your speakers and ANALOG, ANALOG EVERYWHERE.
You keep rolling and you find Pong, a 7-minute long rave ride which tastes like the best, the most peculiar kind of nostalgia, the one you have for an era you've (unfortunately) never lived in. All that plus a bit of Andrew Weatherall vibes.
Cherry on top, italian debauchery idols Alien Alien deliver a goliath-sized lustful remix. (And the night walk Earl Grey's talking about becomes a full-on trip of someone who's desperately looking for a dealer.)
