Hi, reader. Today we'll talk about the Black Swan theory, a thesis created by writer Nassim Nicholas Taleb which says that mankind regularly bumps into events that have a major impact on the course of history: and as everyone knows all swans are white, and as a black swan is seen as being impossible and unexpected, a black swan event is a major impact surprise, unpredictable and unexpected.
Am I saying that this new release by The Deadstock 33s is a black swan event? Am I implying it's gonna be a huge success because of its name? Am I implying that this La Belle release will even slightly change world culture as we know it?YOU NEVER KNOW!
I mean, why not. The Deadstock 33s (that means semi-mythological producer Justin Robertson, for whom of you who might not know) is seriously one of the most amazingly interesting projects out there. They describe themselves as A kind of rural backwater psychedelia and their songs truly bring you out there.
Like – just take a listen to Swans, the title track, a wonderfully, bitterly glowing melting pot of Clash-y vibes, Neu!disco basslines and balearic drums. Or to its In Flagranti remix and its unmistakable, irresistible I'm going down-down-down-and-everything-is-so-soft-here feeling.
